Gloucester Freight Latest News

I happened across the gov.uk website the other day and found a very useful page concerned with which government departments you should inform if you are moving or retiring abroad.

I expect you will have thought of most of them, but there may be one or two you hadn’t considered.

• Your council – if you are moving or retiring abroad, you need to give your local council a forwarding address.
• Your benefits – if you are receiving benefits, you need to inform the relevant benefits office of your move. It may even be possible for you to continue to receive benefits after your move.
• Your pension – retiring abroad may affect your pension. Contact the International Pensions Centre to find out.
• Your student loan – you must inform the Student Loans Company so that you can be sure you are paying the correct amount.
• Your tax obligations – tell HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) of your plans to keep paying the correct amount of tax.
• Your vote and citizenship – if you move or retire abroad, you can usually continue voting in UK elections. Your UK citizenship will not be affected.

As for the physical aspects of your move, my company has been successfully moving people abroad for since 1986 and we think we’ve learnt a thing or two.

Give me a call on 01452 729915 and we’ll discuss how we can best arrange your move for you.
